Collection: Pray for LA

Seven California fires have ravaged Los Angeles. As of January 14, 2025, three are still mostly uncontained. Many evacuation orders are still in place. Around 88,000 people are still under evacuation orders, down from 180,000 people. 

Los Angeles is my home and it's hard to see brothers and sisters suffer. People are asking why. People have lost hope. People need help. As Christians, we can take comfort in the fact that we believe and worship a sovereign God. But we need to reach out to the needy, homeless, and hungry. We need to be doers of God's Word. 

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,  I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me’"--Matthew 25:35-40

This week, we are selling these "Pray for LA" shirts to raise funds for the victims of the wildfires. Because of a few generous donors, we are able to donate 100% of all the proceeds from these shirts. All proceeds will be donated to the Children's Hunger Fund. Their organization is close to the Sylmar fire, and they have prioritized the needs of local families affected by the fires. Learn more about CHF.
